United States Representative Maurice Hinchey and longtime activist Kesii MacKaye will serve as the grand marshals for this year's Hudson Valley Pride March and Festival, which will take place in the village of New Paltz on Sunday, June 3. Sponsored by the Hudson Valley LGBTQ Community Center, the eighth annual march and festival will mark the culmination of a week of activities linked by this year's Pride theme, "Dignity for All" - a reference to New York state's Dignity Act, a measure intended to address bullying in the schools that becomes law on July 1.

The Pride gathering brings the LGBTQ community and its allies together in celebration by reaching out to members, potential members and friends in the Hudson Valley and beyond, and includes an entire week of activities. DRUMMERS: Drum rehearsals at the Rosendale Community center Mondays April 2nd and 9th.
On Cinco de Mayo, drummers should assemble at the TRANSnDANCEnDRUM at 1:45. Parade starts at 2.

Elaine Fong is a certified TaKeTiNa Rhythm Instructor at the advanced level. Founder and former artistic director of Odaiko New England, she is a member of the Alameda-based taiko group, Maze Daiko.

She has 10 years of dance training and works to develop collaborative projects on both coasts with artists, musicians, and life coaches.
